Like a soundtrack to an imaginary film, in Tales of a Prior World, Douglas Frohman and Chuck Duff assemble a rich array of voices at the musical crossroads of many traditions. Inspired by the modal, fusion jazz of Miles Davis and John McLaughlin, as well as ambient pioneers Brian Eno, Mark Isham and Bill Laswell, Prior World weaves a flowing tapestry of sound combining electric and acoustic guitars and traditional world percussion with the modern voices of synthesizers and sampling.
